What it is
Clean-cut squid rings with a mild, slightly sweet flavour and a firm bite. They come ready to cook, with none of the cleaning required for whole squid.
How we handle it
The rings are cleaned, frozen and sold by weight from our freezer. Thaw them in the fridge and dry them well before cooking.
How to cook it
Flour and fry them quickly for calamari, or sauté them over high heat for no more than a couple of minutes. Either cook squid very quickly or braise it slowly; the middle ground makes it rubbery. Classic Fish and Chips with Beer Batter.
Good to know
Pre-cut rings save preparation time and have very little waste. Drying them thoroughly is the simplest way to get a crisp finish when frying.
