Click to zoomBlue Mussels (Newfoundland, Cooked, Frozen)
What it is
Newfoundland blue mussels, already cooked and cleaned, shell on. Same sweet briny meat as the fresh ones with none of the sorting or debearding.
How we handle it
They arrive cooked and frozen and stay solid in our freezer until you buy them.
How to cook it
Tip them straight from frozen into a hot pan with butter, garlic and a splash of wine and cover for a few minutes — just long enough to heat through. Mussels in White Wine and Garlic.
Good to know
Because they are pre-cooked, overheating is the only real risk: pull them off as soon as they are hot or the meat tightens.
